Can a mediator be a TV star?

Well, it remains to be seen is an actual mediator could have his/her own TV show, USA networks has ordered a first run of a show called "Facing Kate" in which the protagonist of the show is a mediator. Described (probably in an unflattering way), as a lady from a family of corporate lawyers who becomes the ultimate "anti-lawyer", Kate will face a "a world of a constant conflict," according to USA president of original programming and UCP co-head Jeff Wachtel. "With traditional lawyers, it's always one wins, one loses; in mediation, the goal is to have win-win." Let's hope, for all of us, that this show can produce a win-win for the public perception of the field and give us a little credibility in the process.
