UNCG Expands 'Conflict and Peace Studies’ with New Courses and Degree Concentrations

UNCG is preparing its graduates for research, service and career opportunities by investing in new online and on-campus courses.

Today UNCG announced a significant expansion of its Master’s degree and post-baccalaureate certificate programs that focus on conflict, dispute resolution and peace building. A dozen new courses and three new degree concentrations will be offered – both online and at the University.
“Anyone who reads local, national or international news knows that conflict isn’t going away,” said Cathie Witty, program director. “It is an important aspect of dozens of careers and avocations – from law enforcement and social work to human rights advocacy, international peace-building, politics and government. We’re making a significant investment in an area we believe will position our graduates to take advantage of a broad range of research, service and career opportunities.”
The expanded program will offer two new required courses and 10 new electives – all delivered both online and on campus. Most will be available for enrollment by this year’s summer session. Read more...
