Graduation Ceremony and End of Semester Party

The Conflict Studies & Dispute Resolution Graduation Ceremony and End of Semester Party will be held on May 15th beginning at 11:00 AM at the Gateway University Research Park (North Campus) in Brown Summit.


This year's graduation speaker is Dr. Raleigh Bailey, Founder and Former Director of the UNCG Center for New North Carolinians (CNNC). He has served as the Program Director of the Center’s AmeriCorps program. He is currently a member of the Society for Applied Anthropology, an ambassador for the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, advisor to the Greensboro Buddhist Center, and board member for the African Services Coalition. In 2003 he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the North Carolina Refugee Program. Bailey received his bachelor’s degree in humanities with a minor in sociology and social work from Florida Southern College, master’s degree in divinity from Boston University School of Theology, and doctorate degree in human nature and religion from Hartford Seminary Foundation.For his years of service to UNCG's Social Work Department and CNNC, Dr. Bailey was recently featured in the Greensboro News & Record, and is a 2010 recent recipient of the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest order the Governor can bestow on a citizen for voluntary service.
