The semester began this week with a new full-time faculty member, a new adjunct, and a new class of conflict resolution students and many new non-majors taking our courses.
After settling into his new home and office Dr. Tom Matyok began his first week of teaching with a residential section of CNR 601 (Cultural Dimensions of Conflict) and on-line sections of 601 and CNR 680 (Facilitation). Dr. Angus McGregor, a new adjunct faculty member, begins tonight with CNR 665 (Conflict in Religious Communities). We also have some more familiar faces to the program teaching this semester including Roy Baroff (CNR 615- Mediation Theory and Practice, residential and on-line) and Dr. Ken Newberger (CNR 680, on-line).
The on-line section of CNR 600 (Concepts and Processes of Conflict Resolution) was getting so oversubscribed than a new on-line section was created. Dr. Cathie Witty, the program director, is teaching the additional section of CNR 600. Dr. Sherrill Hayes is teaching both a residential and on-line section of CNR 600 as well.
In addition to faculty, the program also has a new gradaute assistant this semester, Aaron Mitchell. He is a second year graduate student in the program and spent 6 weeks with the Alliance for Conflict Transformation's summer training program in Bolivia! Welcome back Aaron.
